The importance of Water Quality Monitoring at Arctic National Parks
The aquatic resources within the project geographical area support large number of unique fish species as well as native amphibian species. Aquatic systems mix the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of catchment area they drain. It creates increased risk to a variety of environmental stressors in Park’s waterbodies.
Our goal is not just to maintain them but also to enhance diversity of these species in Arctic. The mail goal of our project is to determine the status and trends of the ecological conditions in selected lakes and rivers using modern IoT technologies. The main indicators for monitoring are: dissolved oxygen, pH, specific conductance, temperature etc.. Soon real time data can be observe via Eco-map we create.
