Attention! Plastic is already in the Arctic

Plastic may be common, but it is also dangerous. Ever since 1950, about 8.3 billion tons of plastic have been produced in the entire world! The reason for its danger, is that it takes a whooping 450 years for it to decompose and when it does it realeses dangerous chemicals for the enviroment, animals! Because of these harmful actions, about 73% of all the litter on beaches is plastic! Due to it's harmful effects, plastic is banned from certain parts of the world! It is especially bad in the Arctic, since the plastic travels on ocean currents to the north. It is also not as visible due the fact that most ice and plastic are clear.
